Megan Bauer, DC, CACCP

Dr. Megan Bauer had an eye-opening chiropractic experience when she suffered from debilitating headaches in her early 20s. She had been to a number of different healthcare professionals and was eventually told there was nothing they could do for her. She was referred to a chiropractor in her hometown who educated her on chiropractic and the cause of the headaches. 'Something just made sense about how he explained the cause of the headaches; it was like a light bulb went off'. From there, Dr. Megan knew her passion for wanting to help people should be done so through chiropractic care. Dr. Megan grew up in a small town in Southern Illinois but moved to Michigan after graduating from chiropractic school. She attended Southeast Missouri State University for her undergraduate studies in biomedical sciences and continued on to Logan University where she completed another Bachelor of Science and graduated in 2014 with her Doctorate of Chiropractic. While at Logan, she was extensively trained in many chiropractic techniques including Diversified, Logan Basic, Thompson Technique, Sacral-Occipital Technique (SOT), Cox Flexion-Distraction, Activator, and others to help fit the personal needs of each patient. She is also trained in myofascial release, kinesiology taping, and a number of soft tissue techniques. Dr. Megan has always had an interest in working with children and through further education, with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) she received her Webster Technique certification and was granted Certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP). She is passionate about chiropractic care and is honored to work with families, children, and babies in a belief that we can change the future health of generations to come. Dr. Megan has previous experience in a prenatal and pregnancy focused office and is thrilled to be a part of the team at Optimal Wellness Family Chiropractic to provide excellent care for patients of all ages to allow for optimal health and function. In her free time, you can find Dr. Megan enjoying crafts or do-it-yourself home improvement projects. She also enjoys traveling, the outdoors, and spends her time snowboarding, camping, kayaking, fishing and spending time with her boyfriend Alex and puppy Remi. She also likes to explore new places and things in her new home in Michigan!
